Lenexa, Kan. – The National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC), representing more than 750 broadband and cable operators serving all 50 states, announces its Board Chairman, Bob Ormberg is stepping down after 13 years of service. Bob is stepping down due to his change in employment from an NCTC member company to a provider of marketing services, SatCom. In the interim Brad Mefferd, Vice-Chairman will assume the role of Chairman until formal elections later this year.
“Bob Ormberg served on the NCTC board for 13 years and as an executive of GCI. He has been an outstanding contributor and will continue to work with the NCTC board for the next several months. We appreciate Bob’s contributions time and insights throughout many years,” said Rich Fickle, President of NCTC.
“I have been in the telecommunications industry since May of 1985 and have worked for multiple providers in different states and have spent the past 22 years working for GCI in Alaska and have retired from GCI at the end of 2019. It was a pleasure serving on the NCTC board since 2006. During my time with the NCTC I have served on all the committees except the Finance committee and was the Chairman of the Programming committee as well as the Vice-Chairman prior to being the Chairman for the past 1-2 years. I am excited to be moving back to Minnesota which is my home state and I’m looking forward to being closer to my family. My new job with SatCom Marketing is based in the Twin Cities and I will be serving as the Business Development Officer,” said Bob Ormberg, Chairman of NCTC’s Board of Directors.
“I thank Bob for his years of service and his insightful leadership of the Board. I’m glad he is staying within the industry, and I’m grateful that Bob will continue to assist me and the Board over the coming months, and wish him well in his new role at Satcom,” said Brad Mefferd, Vice-Chairman of NCTC’s Board of Directors.
