Cable One’s Jim Obermeyer and TVS Cable’s David Thacker named as new board members. NCTC thanks outgoing board member Ken Johnson from Cable One for his contributions.
Lenexa, Kan. – The National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC), representing more than 700 broadband and cable operators serving all 50 states today announced the appointment of new board members Jim Obermeyer from Cable One and David Thacker from TVS Cable to a three-year term. In addition, NCTC would like to thank Ken Johnson from Cable One for serving on the board since October 2018.
Jim Obermeyer, SVP Marketing & Sales, Cable One
As Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Cable One, Jim is responsible for overseeing marketing, residential sales, brand, digital strategy, web development, corporate communications, and programming.
Obermeyer has more than 30 years of experience in guiding and executing high level marketing and sales strategy. Before joining Cable One, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Charter Communications. Prior to Charter, he was Managing Director of Brand and Consumer Marketing for NASCAR and Chief Marketing Officer for Supra Telecom.
Obermeyer holds a bachelor’s degree in Advertising from Michigan State University and a certificate in Strategic Business Leadership from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business.
David Thacker, General Manager, TVS Cable
David Thacker is the General Manager for TVS Cable. He graduated from Alice Lloyd College in 2004 with a degree in Business Management and a minor in accounting. David began working for Thacker-Grigsby the parent company of TVS Cable in 1998 while still in high school, following in the footsteps of his grandparents and father. After completing college, David continued working for Thacker-Grigsby installing central office equipment and administering switch work. In 2009 he was named Technical Operations Manager for TVS Cable overseeing the growing internet business. In 2016 David was promoted to Assistant General Manager and started handling a lot of the day-to-day activities of the business and in September of 2021 he was named General Manager.
